OK Red Conference Swim Meet

Bulldogs Lose: -
What a great conference meet the Grandville Girls Varsity team had this past weekend. The ladies finished in the top 5 at the OK Red Conference Meet and qualified for the MHSAA State Championships in 6 of the 12 events. The ladies started the weekend off with a Grandville varsity record in the 200 Medley relay with Maddy Light, Maddy Kievit, Chloe Graverson and Isabelle Bargenquast swimming an incredible 1:49.93. Individual top 8 finishes were swum by Graveson finishing 2nd in the 50 and 5th in the 100, Kievit who was 4th in the breaststroke and 8th in the 200 IM, Maddy Light was 4th in the backstroke, Lauren Potyraj finishing 8th the 200 free and Kaya Bolthouse taking home 7th in the 500 free. Top 16 finishes were swum by Bolthouse, Emma Merkle, Alyssa Light, Maddy Light, Bargenquast, Potyraj, Kennedy Pierce, Julia Chambers, Holly Bengtson, Arian Bystry, Isabel Castro, Annabelle Brazee, and Hailey Bradley. Congrats to the dogs on a great performance and we can't wait to see how the state meet goes in 2 weeks.

Bulldogs Lose: 142.00 - 175.00
The Grandville Swim and Dive team celebrated their senior night against Hudsonville yesterday. A very big congrats are for seniors Kaya Bolthouse, Arian Bystry, Margaret Jastifer, Erin Gathen, Mileyka Ballard, Madeline Kievit and Chloe Graverson for a great dual meet season and having swum your last meet in Grandville's pool. The dogs ultimately fell short last night 175-142 and enter a 2-week no-meet stretch until the OK Red Conference meet November 8-9. Go Dogs.

The Grandville Swim and Dive team picked up their first win in the OK RED yesterday against East Kentwood. On top of the win, Grandville was able to secure two MHSAA state qualifying cuts in the 50 freestyle swam by Chloe Graverson and 200 Free Relay led off by Graverson, Emma Merkle, Lauren Potyraj and Isabelle Bargenquast. These in-season cuts are rare and boad well for the dogs end-of-the-season meets! Other great swims came from Camryn Pastoor, Mia Martin, Cadence Miller, Maddy light, Maddy Kievet, Alyssa Light, and Nicole Zuniga. Great job to the ladies as they move to 4-4 for the season.

Bulldogs Win: 100 - 75
Grandville women's varsity swim and dive brought home another win last night against Holland 100-75. It was a night of firsts as Julia DeLuca won her first individual event and earned her varsity letter in diving and Emma Merkle won her first event with multiple season and personal bests. Other wins for the night included Maddy Kievit in the breast, Chloe Graverson in the 50 and 100 free, Lauren Potyraj in the 500 free and Alyssa Light in the 100 fly. Other solid swims were tallied by Holly Bengtson, Gretchen Riley, Sarah Kelly, Mileyka Ballard, Cadence Miller, Sandra Rabidoux, Taylor Grifhorst, Margeret Jastifire, and Carolina Centeno. The dogs are now 3-1.

The lady dogs Swim and Dive team brought home another win last night against the Northview Wildcats 92-74. Wins were swum by Maddy Light, Maddy Kievit, Arian Bystry, Chloe Graverson, Kaya Bolthouse, Emma Merkle and Isabell Bargenquast. Other great performances include Camryn Pastoor, Sara Kelly, Cadence Miller, Rileigh Chambers, Annabell Brazee, Marlee Wolf, Mia Robins, Elorie Agema, Isabell Castro, Jalissia Tucent, Nicole Zuniga and Erin Gathen. The dogs move to 2-1 for the season.

Bulldogs Lose: 0 - 0
  The Grandville Swim and Dive team split their meets this week finishing 1-1. They started off with a great meet against Jenison coming up a little short against the Wildcats. The dogs won 2 out of the 3 relays and fought out a good meet. Emma Merkle, Kennedy Pierce, and Campbell Moore worked through tough events and scored some needed points. The Dogs then had to swim Spring Lake the next day winning 102-81. Julia Chambers won her first individual High School event in diving with an incredible score of 167.5. Other notable performances came from Mia Robins, Morgan Rocha-Adams, Erin Billings, Annie Powney, Carolina Centeno, Abigail Armstrong, Jalissia Tucent, Camryn Pastoor, Margeret Jastifire, Cadence Miller and Sandra Rabidoux. Great job ladies!

Bulldogs Lose: -
Grandville Swim and Dive team took home the Northview Invitational win on Thursday against 8 tough teams. Grandville, the defending champions used their depth to outpaced Northview and Byron Center throughout the invite.  Chloe Graverson had a great meet winning the 50 freestyle and touching 3rd in the 100. Top 8 finishers were Lauren Potyraj, Isabelle Bargenquast, Isabel Castro, Madeline Kievit, Emma Merkle, Maddy Light, and Hailey Bradley. Top 16 finishers included Julia Chambers, Campbell Moore, Julia DeLuca, Marlee Wolf, Arain Bystry and Alyssa Light.  Grandville relays performed incredible as the medley relays finished 5th and 7th and the free relay of Graverson, Bargenquast, Kaya Bolthouse, and Potyraj finished first and the Grandville B relay touched 4th.  The Dawgs have a big meet against Jenison today and Spring Lake on Wednesday. Yesterday the Grandville Varsity Girls Swim and Dive Team opened up their season with an unofficial invitation win against Caledonia United and Grand Rapids Christian, winning by 5 points. The captains of Chloe Graverson, Maddy Kievit and Mylaka Ballard led the way as this first meet was a chance to show some early speed. Some highlights included Maddy Light, Hailey Bradley, Lauren Potyraj, Alyssa Light, Arian Bystry, Erin Gathen, Kya Bolthouse, Margeret Jastifer and Julie Chambers. The girls continue their meet season on Thursday at the Northview Invite.
