Boys Varsity/JV Cross Country at Portage Invitational

Bulldogs Lose: -
The Men's Cross Country Team finished in 21st place out of 40 schools at the Portage Invitational on Saturday.  Leading the way was sophomore Zac Zemba who came in 47th place with a 16:29.  Senior Isaiah Salguero came in 56th place and ran a 16:36.  Junior Bernardo Saldivar ran a great race finishing in 133rd place and running a 17:16.  Sophomore Justin Gorman ran another PR of 17:24 and came in 146th place. Senior Noah Wheeler had a nice bounce back race coming in 179th place with a 17:40.  Senior Santiago Saldivar came in 210th place with a 17:54 and sophomore Jackson Gibney ran a PR coming in 230th place and ran an 18:04. The Men's Junior Varsity Cross Country Team came in 16th place out of 36 schools on Saturday at the Portage Invitational.  Leading the way was freshman Evan Kornoelje running a PR of 17:40 and coming in 30th place.  Next up was freshman Will Shults coming in 74th place with a PR of 18:08.  Sophomore Josh Gorsh also ran a PR at 18:39 and coming in 131st place.  Junior Miles Buursma ran his personal best time of 18:47 and he came in 154th place.  In 175th place was freshman Eli DeCook who ran an 18:55.  Rounding out the top seven were junior Zach Richards who ran a 19:01 and came in 190th place and freshman Damien Freeman who came in 219th place and ran a 19:18.

The Men's Varsity Cross Country team did not have one of their best days.  The Bulldog Harriers finished in 5th place in the second OK Red Jamboree of the season.  Leading the way was injured senior Zach Theeuwes with a 5th place finish and a time of 16:59.  Sophomore Zac Zemba came in 10th place with a time of 17:16.  Senior Isaiah Salguero came in 19th place with a time of 17:29.  Junior Bernardo Saldivar came in 27th place with a time of 17:57.  Freshman Justin Gorman came in 35th place with a time of 18:12.  Seniors Noah Wheeler and Santiago Saldivar rounded out the top seven by finishing in 41st and 43rd place respectively.  Noah ran an 18:21 and Santi an 18:25. The Men's Junior Varsity Cross Country Team came in 5th place at the 2nd OK Red Jamboree yesterday.  Leading the way was junior Miles Buursma who came in 17th place with a time of 19:15.  Sophomore Josh Gorsh came in 28th place with a time of 19:29.  Freshman Eli DeCook and junior Zach Richards came in 32nd and 34th place respectively.  Eli ran a 19:38 and Zach a 19:41.  Freshman Damien Freeman came in 39th place and a time of 19:52.  Rounding out the top seven were sophomore Josh Machuta and junior Sully Duffy.  Josh came in 57th place and time of 20:15.  Sully came in 66th place and time of 20:29.

The Men's Cross Country Team finished runner up on Saturday at the Allendale Invitational coming in behind Zeeland West.  Leading the way was senior Zach Theeuwes who finished in 3rd place with a time of 16:13.  Sophomore Zac Zemba and senior Isaiah Salguero came in 10th and 11th place respectively.  Zac ran a personal best time of 16:23, and Isaiah also ran a PR of 16:33.  Senior Santiago Saldivar came in 23rd place with a PR of 16:59.  Junior Bernardo Saldivar came in 45th place with a time of 17:27.  Rounding out the top seven were freshman Evan Kornoelje who ran a personal best time of 18:20 and came in 61st place and senior Noah Wheeler came in 68th place with a time of 18:38.  Next race is Tuesday at East Kentwood. The Men's Junior Varsity Cross Country Team came in 6th place at the Allendale Invitational on Saturday.  Leading the way was freshman Justin Gorman who came in 9th place with a personal best time of 17:56.  Sophomore Jackson Gibney and freshman Will Shults came in 23rd and 25th place respectively with both runners getting their PR.  Jackson ran a 18:17 and Will an 18:19.  Freshman Eli DeCook, juniors Miles Buursma, and junior Zach Richards came in 41st, 46th, and 50th place respectively.  Eli ran a PR of 18:37.  Miles ran a PR of 18:49.  Zach ran an 18:52.  The seventh runner for the Bulldogs was sophomore Josh Gorsh who ran a PR of 18:58.

The Men's Cross Country Team came in 4th place out of 11 schools at the Cougar/Falcon Invite at the Gainey Athletic Complex on Saturday.  Sophomore Zac Zemba led the way by finishing in 1st place with a personal best time of 16:29.  Senior Isaiah Salguero came in 12th place with a time of 17:01.  Junior Bernardo Saldivar had a nice bounce back race by coming in 23rd place and running a 17:36.  Senior Santiago Saldivar came in 39th place with a time of 17:58.  Senior Noah Wheeler came in 44th place with a time of 18:02.  Rounding out the top seven were freshmen Evan Kornoelje and Justin Gorman.  Evan came in 59th place and ran an 18:27 and Justin came in 68th place and ran a personal best time of 18:35. The Men's Junior Varsity Cross Country Team came in 10th place out of 21 schools Saturday at the Cougar/Falcon Invitational.  Leading the way was junior Zach Richards with a 4th place finish and a time of 18:51.  Sophomore Jackson Gibney came in 23rd place with a time of 19:37.  Junior Miles Buursma came in 30th place with a time of 19:46.  Sophomore Josh Gorsh came in 39th place with a time of 19:57.  Junior Sully Duffy came in 54th place with a time of 20:38.  Rounding out the top seven were senior Ethan Johnson who came in 61st place with a time of 20:53 and sophomore Josh Machuta who came in 88th place with a time of 22:12. The Guy's Freshmen Cross Country Team came in 1st place out of 13 schools Saturday at the Cougar/Falcon Invitational.  Leading the way was Will Shults who came in 5th place with a time of 19:08.  Eli DeCook who came in 9th place with a time of 19:29.  Arthur Gardine came in 15th place with a personal best time of 19:43.  Damien Freeman came in 20th place with a time of 20:04.  Grayson Grifhorst came in 35th place with a time of 20:55.  Rounding out the top seven were Braylon Anderson who came in 42nd place with a time of 21:13 and Luke Meyer who came in 42nd place with a personal best time of 21:39.

The Men's Cross Country Team finished in 3rd place at the 1st OK Red Conference Jamboree on Tuesday.  Hudsonville won the meet with Caledonia runner-up.  Leading the way for the Dawgs was senior Zach Theeuwes who finished in 4th place with a time of 16:36.  Sophomore Zac Zemba came in 7th place with a time of 16:58.  Senior Isaiah Salguero came in 10th place with a time of 17:10.  Senior Santiago Saldivar came in 18th place with a time of 17:22.  Senior Noah Wheeler came in 38th place with a time of 18:11.  Rounding out the top seven were junior Bernardo Saldivar and freshman Evan Kornoelje.  Nardo came in 44 place with a time of 18:23 and Evan came in 53rd place with a time of 18:34.

The Men's Cross Country Team came in 6th place out of 10 schools at the Sparta Invitational on Saturday.  Great pack running by all seven runners was evident in their times and places.  Sophomore Jackson Gibney and Will Schults came in 27th and 28th place respectively.  Jackson ran a season PR of 18:43 and Will ran his overall PR with an 18:44.  Junior Zach Richards and freshman Justin Gorman came in 31st and 34th place respectively.  Zach and Justin both ran their PR's with Zach getting an 18:46 and Justin an 18:51.  Junior Miles Buursma ran his PR of 19:04 and came in 37th place.  Freshman Eli DeCook and sophomore Josh Gorsh rounded out the top seven with Eli coming in 40th place with a 19:07 and Josh coming in 42nd place with a time of 19:16, a season PR.   The Men's Junior Varsity Cross Country Team cam in 6th place at the Sparta Invitational on Saturday.  Leading the way was freshman Damien Freeman who finished in 14th place with at time of 19:17.  Freshman Arthur Gardine came in 24th place with a PR of 19:49.  Sophomore Josh Machuta came in 36th place with a season best time of 20:11.  Junior Sully Duffy came in 44th place with a time of 20:26.  Senior Ethan Johnson came in 57th place with a time of 20:55.  Rounding out the top seven were junior Garrett McGovern and freshman Braylon Anderson who came in 66th place and 67th place respectively.  Garrett ran a season PR of 21:10 and Braylon ran his PR also a 21:10.

The Men's Cross Country Team finished in 16th place out of 39 schools at the Michigan State University Invitational on Friday.  Leading the way was sophomore Zac Zemba who finished in 23rd place with a time of 16:43.  Senior Zach Theeuwes came in 49th place with a time of 17:09.  Senior Isaiah Salguero came in 78th place with a time of 17:25.  Brothers Santiago and Bernardo Saldivar came in 145th place and 183rd place respectively.  Santi ran an 18:08 and Nardo ran an 18:27.  Senior Noah Wheeler came in 198th place with a time of 18:43.  Freshman Evan Kornoelje came in 244th place with a time of 19:15.  Next race for the Bulldog Harriers is Tuesday at Rockford for the 1st OK Red Jamboree of the season.

The Men's Cross Country Team finished in 4th place at the West Ottawa Invitational out of 18 schools.  Leading the way was senior Zach Thueewes with a 7th place finish and a time of 16:44.  Sophomore Zac Zemba came in 9th place and ran a 16:51.  Seniors Isaiah Salguero and Santiago Saldivar came in 20th and 21st place respectively.  Isaiah ran a time of 17:23 and Santi ran a 17:24.  Junior Bernardo Saldivar came in 45th place with a time of 17:58.  Senior Noah Wheeler and freshman Evan Kornoelje came in 56th place and 81st place respectively.  Noah ran an 18:16 and Evan ran a 19 flat.

The Grandville Men's Cross Country Team won the Saranac Invitational on Wednesday defeating the other 13 schools and winning by 21 points over runner-up East Lansing.  Leading the way was senior Zach Theeuwes with a third place finish and a time of 16:08.  Sophomore Zac Zemba and senior Isaiah Salguero came in 5th and 6th place respectively with times of 16:41 and 16:42.  Junior Bernardo Saldivar and his senior brother Santiago came in 9th place and 11th place respectively.  Nardo ran a 17:07 and Santi ran a 17:12.  Senior Noah Wheeler came in 18th place with a time of 17:32.  Rounding out the top seven was freshman Evan Kornoelje who came in 31st place with an 18:21.
