Allie Arnsman (18:33) finished first at the Regional cross country meet this past Friday, edging out Arianne Olson of West Ottawa by 1 second in the final straightaway. Allie will go on to compete at the State Championship at Michigan International Speedway this Friday, November 6 at 11am.

The Grandville girls cross country team competed at the Pre-Regional meet this past Saturday and placed 7th. Allie Arnsman (19:01) finished 2nd and qualified for the Regional meet, followed by Maddy Wolf (21:01) with a season best in 24th, Kaylee Scott (21:18) in 30th, Sarah Etcher (22:24) in 45th, Rose Meyer (22:38) in 50th, Elise Ferguson (23:08) in 55th, and Hailey Kempf (23:44) in 57th.   Allie Arnsman will continue on to compete at the Regional Championships this Friday October 30 at Portage West Middle School.

The Grandville Girls JV cross country team finished their cross country season by running ten personal best times and four season bests times at Riverside Park on Tuesday at the OK-Red JV Conference meet. They finished in 3rd place.   Celia Kingscott led the Grandville team in 15th place, followed by Lydia DeCook with a personal best in 19th, Erin Taylor with a personal best in 24th, and Mariah Martinez with a personal best in 26th. Natalie Lehmann ran to a season best in 29th, followed by Grace Hargrove-Brown and Ella McCrumb, both who finished with personal bests.   Other girls who ran season bests included Ella Huff, Adi Martin, and Josie Callendar. Additional personal bests were achieved by Makenna Kolenda, Hailey Buikema, Emma Kusmierski, Georgia Moody, and Alice Meloni.

The Grandville Girls cross country team competed well at Riverside Park this past Saturday at the OK-Red Conference Championships, finishing in 7th place.   Allie Arnsman (18:32) led the Grandville team in 2nd place with a personal best and #8 fastest Grandville time ever. Kaylee Scott (20:52) finished next with a personal best time in 39th, followed by Maddy Wolf (21:11) with a season best in 47th, and Jordyn Harrington (21:36) and Sarah Etcher (22:05) with personal best times. Rose Meyer (22:12) finished with a season best, followed by Elise Ferguson (22:35). The duo of Celia Kingscott (22:40) and Hailey Kempf (22:51) rounded out the top nine for the day, with Celia running a season best.   Varsity will continue on to compete at the Pre-Regional cross country meet Saturday, October 24 at Macatawa Bay Middle School.

The Girl’s Cross Country team lost to Rockford 20-43 on Tuesday for their last dual meet of the season. Allie Arnsman (18:45) finished first in the race with a personal best time, a top five best sophomore time, and the ninth fastest time in Grandville Girls cross country history. Kaylee Scott (21:55) finished next for Grandville in 9th, followed by Maddy Wolf (22:26) in 15th, Sarah Etcher (22:27) with a new personal best time in 16th, Rose Meyer (22:42) in 18th, Elise Ferguson (23:03) in 20th, and Jordyn Harrington (23:07) in 22nd.   Personal records were set by Erin Taylor (24:51) and Ella McCrumb (26:33), and season records were set by Hailey Buikema (26:51) and Georgia Moody (28:07).

Allie Arnsman (19:23) finished first in the race, followed by Jordyn Harrington (22:27) in 9th place with a new personal best time, Elise Ferguson (22:38) and Rose Meyer (22:48) in 11th and 12th respectively, Celia Kingscott (23:32) in 14th, Sarah Etcher (24:13) in 22nd, and Mariah Martinez (25:48) in 27th.   Additional personal bests were set by Brooklyn Gromko (26:17) and Ella McCrumb (27:36).   The girls look forward to their final dual cross country meet at Rockford on Tuesday, October 13.

Allie Arnsman (19:21) finished second in the race, followed by Kaylee Scott (21:36) with a season best in 8th, Maddy Wolf (21:47) in 10th, Elise Ferguson (22:28) in 11th, Rose Meyer (22:29) and Hailey Kempf (22:41) both with season bests in 12th and 13th respectively, and Jordyn Harrington (23:01) in 14th. Additional season records were set by Lindsay Keranen (24:04), Adi Martin (29:35), Natalie Lehmann (25:40), and Ella Huff (26:07). The Girl’s Cross Country team lost to Hudsonville 24-31 on Wednesday, but finished with many personal best times.   Allie Arnsman (19:20) finished first in the race with a new personal record, followed by Kaylee Scott (21:41) and Maddy Wolf (21:46) with season bests in 5th and 6th respectively. Sarah Etcher (22:55) and Jordyn Harrington (22:56) finished with personal records and in 10th and 11th place respectively, followed by Celia Kingscott (23:00) with a season best in 12th. Rose Meyer (23:03) rounded out the top seven for Grandville with a new season best and in 14th place.   Other top performances for the day included Lydia DeCook (25:18), Mariah Martinez (26:17), Ella McCrumb (28:00), and Alice Meloni (30:00), all with personal best times.   The girls look forward to their next cross country meet at South Christian High School on Tuesday, September 29 against West Ottawa.

The Girl’s Cross Country team lost to East Kentwood 25-30 on Tuesday, but still pushed through with solid performances.   Allie Arnsman (20:10) finished first in the race, followed by Kaylee Scott (22:43) in 4th, Maddy Wolf (23:07) in 6th, Celia Kingscott and Rose Meyer (24:09) who tied for 9th, Jordyn Harrington (24:10) in 11th, and Hailey Kempf (24:24) in 13th. A highlight in the race included a personal record time set by Ella McCrumb (29:53).   The girls look forward to their next cross country meet against Hudsonville at Baldwin Middle School on Wednesday, September 23.

The Girl’s Cross Country team lost to Grand Haven 20-42 on Thursday, but competed well with many season and personal best times.   Allie Arnsman (19:44) finished first in the race, followed by Kaylee Scott (22:15) in 8th place with a season best time, Elise Ferguson (22:49) in 11th, Hailey Kempf (22:58) in 14th with a season best, Maddy Wolf (23:02) in 16th, Rose Meyer (23:03) with a season best and 18th place, and Celia Kingscott (23:16) in 19th place.   There were other season best times for the day, set by Grace Hargrove-Brown, Hailey Buikema, Natalie Lehmann, Ella Huff, and Lindsay Keranen. The Grandville girls cross country team lost to Forest Hills Northern this past Friday at Riverside Park, but competed well with many season and personal best times.   Allie Arnsman (19:23) finished second in the race and first for Grandville. She ran a personal best time, the ninth fastest sophomore time in Grandville girls cross country history, and sixteenth fastest time ever for Grandville girls cross country.   Elise Ferguson (22:27) finished second for Grandville and in the top ten in the race with a new season best time. Close behind were Kaylee Scott (22:45) and Maddy Wolf (22:53) with season bests, Neveah Karriem (22:59) in her debut race, and Sarah Etcher (23:03) with another personal best time by a minute and a half. Celia Kingscott (23:15) rounded out the top seven for Grandville, also finishing with a season best time.   There were other many personal records for the day, set by Jordyn Harrington, Lydia DeCook, Jaden Loyd, Erin Taylor, Lauren Reid, Kelcey Hunt, Katelyn Hopkins, Emma Kusmierski, Mariah Martinez, Elyse Friberg, Jodi O’Dell, Tana Duffy, Cece Duffy, Ari Harrold, Katharine Lawrence, Jayla Matecki, and Ella McCrumb. Girls Cross Country Edged by Jenison in First Meet of the Season

The Grandville girls’ cross country team raced with great determination and teamwork against Jenison at Unity Christian High School on Tuesday for their first dual meet of the season, finishing second by just four points. In a back and forth battle between first and second place, sophomore Allie Arnsman (21:00) finished runner-up to Maya Guikema of Jenison by just four tenths of a second.   Kaylee Scott (24:02) finished in the top five in the race, followed by Maddy Wolf (24:25), Sarah Etcher (24:47), Hailey Kempf (25:04), Celia Kingscott (25:07), and Elise Ferguson (25:22) to round out the top seven for Grandville.   Rainy weather and large, steep hills made for tough conditions, but Sarah Etcher finished with a personal best by thirty seconds from last year. The team also had many first-time cross country 5k finishers, including Jordyn Harrington, Lydia DeCook, Erin Taylor, Jaden Loyd, Brooklyn Gromko, Mariah Martinez, Lauren Reid, Katelyn Hopkins, Tana Duffy, Emma Kusmierski, Cece Duffy, Elyse Friberg, Kelcey Hunt, Jodi O’Dell, Jayla Matecki, Alice Meloni, Ari Harrold, Katharine Lawrence, and Ella McCrumb.   The ladies are preparing to race again this Friday at Riverside Park for a dual meet against Forest Hills Northern.
